If your computer will not connect to yourfiles on theservercheck the following:

  1. Are other users able to connect?
    1. If YES check the ethernet cable connection between your computer and its socket. Ensure it is fully inserted in to its socketboth ends and that the connections are clean. Where the cable plugs in to the back of thecomputer you should see a small light (it is small so look carefully). If this is not lit then there is no physical connection. If there is a light, there is a connection, but this does not necessarily indicate that you have a fulldata connection. Try repairing the connection by going to Control Panel choose Local Area Connection (it may have been renamed to something else) right click and choose Disable then right click again and choose Enable. If this does not solve the problem then you will need to seek further help from your network administrator.
    2. If NO, other people are not able to connect, then follow the procedures in 2.
  2. Procedures to followwhen multiple users can not connect to their data.
    1. If no computers on the network can connect please check this FAQ concerning Disk Swapping
    2. Check that the LEDs on the hubs/switches are lit.
    3. Power cycle (turn off then on) all hubs on the system.
    4. If you have a patch panel check the cables are all plugged in securely and that all connections are clean.
    5. Check the ethernet cable that connects to the WAN port on your server is connected properly. As with 1.1. above, you should see a small light.
