Shared Folders
By default the GEM has a shared folder to which all users have access. With the default server name of Z1 this folder is accessed using \\Z1\shared
There is also an option to create shared folders which can be set with access rights on a per user basis. These folders are accessed using \\Z1\name

To create a new shared folder log in to your GEM as an Administrator. Go to Networks and choose the otption 'Create New File Share'.

In 'Share name' enter a unique name with a maximum of 16 characters, a to z or digits. Spaces are not allowed.
Click 'Create Share'
Please see below for information regarding the Create Mail Folders option.

Now go to Users and choose the users to whom you wish to give access to the shares you have created. Put a tick in the boxes that you wish this user to have access to.
Click Modify Z1 User Account
The share will now be available to users with valid usernames and passwords.
Create Mail Folders
The option of creating mail folders in a share allows the share users to have access to mail directed there. One example of how this may be advantageous is for a group of people who need to process a regular amount of incoming e-mail, which requires prompt attention.
A user may take a single e-mail from the shared Inbox and place it in their folder (which is not accessible to others) and respond to it accordingly. This way there is a pool of incoming e-mails for the users to process without any fear of mail being overlooked or delayed due toa user being away.
Should you have a requirement for shared e-mail, please contact Zybert for advice.
